OVERLOOKING Ras Al Khaimah creek is the new DoubleTree by Hilton Ras Al Khaimah which has all the comforts of any five-star business hotel. Arriving a little earlier than the specified check-in time, I had to wait as the reception booked out a big group. While that is one option for guests with more leisure time on their hands, you don’t have to take off to the beach to enjoy yourself as the hotel has a rooftop swimming pool, a whirlpool, a steam room, a fully-equipped fitness centre and a spa with treatment rooms for massages and facials, beauty and wellness Later, with our bags already delivered to our room, we carried out the formalities of check-in which was quick and efficient – we were even treated to DoubleTree’s legendary warm chocolate chip cookies as we sorted out the paperwork, a really delicious welcome! We were offered a junior suite which was a pleasant surprise, particularly since the husband decided to join me and my daughter at the last moment. The junior suite features a large living area, small kitchenette and the bedroom has a Sweet Dreams by DoubleTree plush-top king bed which was very comfortable after a ‘hard’ day on the beach. We tried Gusto, the all-day-dining restaurant for an early dinner. As the buffet was just being set up, we decided on ordering a-la-carte, which offered a good and varied choice. Other food and beverage outlets include the Fresco Energy Bar, serving freshly-squeezed fruit juices and light healthy snacks, and the Treetop Lounge and Restaurant, which offers lunch and dinner as you overlook the creek and city. We were back on the beach the following morning after a short trip to the rooftop pool before check-out and an uneventful journey back to Dubai The DoubleTree by Hilton Ras Al Khaimah’s location in the heart of the city makes it the ideal choice for business while its access to the beach and kids’ facilities render the property equally attractive to leisure guests looking for a short relaxing break.
Fortunately guests at the property have access to the beach club and the 1.5-km private beach at the nearby Hilton Ras Al Khaimah Resort and Spa, and that is where we headed, on the free hourly shuttle, while our room was prepared.
