SHARJAH is the place to be with the emirate offering numerous special events and activities during the Holy Month as part of the Sharjah Ramadan Festival and Ramadaniat Al Qasba.
Mohamed Ali Al Noman, director general of the Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority, says the numerous special events and activities lined up have significantly increased tourist movement into the emirate with shopping malls, stores and hotels offering special discounts and promotions.
The 22nd Sharjah Ramadan Festival, hosted by the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry, is being held from August 4 to September 10 alongside a number of other activities including a series of Ramadan lectures and symposiums by renowned Islamic scholars at Eiman Oasis. The Ramadan and Eid Fair at Sharjah Expo Centre, from August 11 to September 3, is another major attraction of the season.
Al Noman underscored the significant role big events and festivals such as these play in increasing the hotel occupancy and mall custom, as is being witnessed during the current Holy Month.
