Mina Seyahi Complex awarded ISO14001

AS PART of Le Meridien and The Westin Dubai Mina Seyahi Complex’s efforts towards sustainable eco-tourism and corporate social responsibility, the complex was recently awarded ISO14001, the Environmental Management System Certification from URS – a certification body accredited by UK Accreditation Services (UKAS).

The award is a recognition of the work carried out at the complex and the environmental management system set up to protect the environment and lessen the environmental footprint.

The complex has commited to comply with all relevant legislation, minimise waste, reduce, re-use and recycle, continuously implement staff awareness programmes, implement and monitor innovative methods of conserving energy and water, promote environmentally responsible purchasing and monitor and record environmental impact after setting a performance target.

‘’Being an active corporate member of Emirates Environmental Group and supporter of Dubai Municipality’s Environmental / Waste Management Campaign, Mina Seyahi Complex management continuously launches green activities such as clean up and recycling campaigns, tree planting, recycling craft competitions, showing environmental films, in addition to participating in local and international  green activities such as the UAE’s Clean Up the World, Can Collection Drive, Earth Hour and Earth Day amongst others,’’ said Nabil Saad, complex director of engineering.

The complex also encourages guests to join in the eco measures through its green room programme, which is aimed at the reduction of linen washing, and sustainable meeting practices which focus on eco-friendly meeting materials and menus including organic food.
