Consulting on hotels with the chief cook and bottlewasher

Kubler...new venture

ICONSULTHOTELS, a consulting firm specialising in helping hospitality companies and professionals achieve their business goals through innovative use of PR, social media and customised CRM strategies, was launched in May this year.

Martin Kubler, who describes himself as ‘chief cook and bottle washer’, runs iconsulthotels and has an operations background therefore bringing to his role an understanding of how people and hotels work hand-in-hand.

“My experience in the industry means I can filter out the important and the unimportant facts, engage with the guests and thus lead to an increase in guest satisfaction and revenue. Our role is to show how to start using not only your successes, but also your failures to recognise and act on opportunities,” said Kubler.

Those using the service will benefit from creative, out-of-the-box and value-for-money communication and PR solutions, assistance in dealing with data/information overload and an ability to understand the importance of thinking holistically, for example how to integrate different communication solutions into ideas (PR, CRM, marketing, social media, business networks).

Kubler believes that each property or business must be given a different personality that guests can relate to it.

“Guests are looking for individuality. While they are looking for the latest offers and deals, they also want to hear the stories from a human-interest level, which allows them to relate to the brand better,” he said.

Kubler also plays a significant role in providing businesses with an interactive social media platform. He aims to make them more innovative or to polish and sharpen their image and to help them communicate better with their colleagues and guests.

For companies which haven’t joined the social media bandwagon, Kubler suggests it is important to come aboard now.

“Set up a social media page, register you business’s name and start listening to the tweets out there. This is where we can offer our specialisation. From creating strategies and policies to training, copy-writing and listening,” he says.
