“With everything from ‘buy two get one free’ packages to discount prices and ‘two for one’ offers, this year’s Summer in Abu Dhabi represents the widest programme of activaties the festival has ever had outside of Adnec,” said Faisal Al Sheikh, events manager, Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority, which organises the event.

As part of the festival, the world’s first Smurf Village, a mini-world dedicated to the small blue fictional creatures created by Belgian cartoonist, Pierre ‘Peyo’ Culliford, will be a key attraction at Adnec.

Currently in the midst of a renaissance in global popularity, the characters’ international appeal will be further boosted when ‘The Smurfs’ movie is released in cinema screens across the world from July 29.

Notable Abu Dhabi attractions have also leveraged the Adnec promotion offering various concessions on presentation of an Adnec ticket. At Ferrari World Abu Dhabi entry will be free for kids under 1.5 m in height sporting an Adnec pass. Adnec entry rates are Dh20 ($5) for children aged up to 12– toddlers up to two go free – and Dh40 ($10) for adults.
