SOME of the world’s top luxury travel companies and destinations were due to participate in a completely new concept in reaching out to consumers. The first entirely online exhibition was due to be held on June 29.
Ultratravel Virtual promised stands, brochures and product experts available to meet and interact live online and show the latest travel experiences they have to offer the consumer.
Luxury hotel brands including One&Only, Raffles, Fairmont and destinations like Dubai, Thailand and the Bahamas were all due to participate alongside premium travel arrangers Cox & Kings and ITC Classics.
Visitors to the online show had the chance to win prizes, including a week in a three-bedroom private villa in Barbados, and hear the thoughts of seasoned luxury travellers like Eddie Jordan of F1 fame from the comfort of a PC, laptop or iPad.
Ultratravel Virtual was due to run throughout the day and was completely free to attend.
“This is a world first so we are intrigued to see how the public responds.
“A virtual travel event where the consumer can explore, ask questions, interact and find inspiration, answers to questions and even book a holiday could be the future for how we find information for our leisure travel,” said Nick Perry, chairman of UltraTravel.
