The City Seasons Group has announced Manu Madan as general manager City Seasons Hotel Muscat. Madan led the opening of City Seasons Hotel Dubai in 2009. He began his career in Dubai as sales executive for The Metropolitan Hotel, Habtoor Group and later became the hotel’s general manager.

Riyadh’s Al Faisaliah Hotel, A Rosewood Hotel, has appointed Georg K Unseld as hotel manager for the new Al Faisaliah Hotel South. He has held senior positions with international hospitality organisations around the world, most recently as general manager at The Carlyle, A Rosewood Hotel in New York.

West joins Virgin UAE
Brad West has be appointed country manager, UAE for Virgin Atlantic Airways. In recent years West was based in Hong Kong in a similar role for Virgin which followed a two year stint with Virgin Nigeria in Lagos where he was head of sales and then director or sales and outstations at the start up.

City Seasons Suites promotes Ashour
Group director of food and beverage Mohamed Fekry Ashour has been promoted to hotel manager at the City Seasons Suites Dubai. Ashour joined the group in 2009 overseeing the food and beverage operations. Prior to joining City Seasons, he was with the Majestic Hotel Tower Dubai.

New sales managers at Arabian Park
Two new members have joined the sales team at the Arabian Park Hotel. Prior to taking on the new role Meer Zainullahbideen (pictured) worked as a sales manager for the Legacy Group of hotel apartments in Dubai while Tarek Ibrahim was cluster sales manager for Holiday Inn Express hotels in Dubai.

The Al Nawras Hotel Apartments, Dubai has announced the appointment of Yasser Zaid as front office manager. Zaid has more than 10 years of hospitality experience and has previously worked for international companies including Banyan Tree and Le Meridien Hotels.

Etihad Airways and Amadeus have announced the appointment of Adrian Gane as the new managing director for joint venture Amadeus Gulf.
A British national, Gane brings to the company a solid professional background in the corporate world, having held several senior positions in the aviation industry.

Etihad appoints Kfouri
Etihad Airways has appointed Juliana Kfouri as its senior vice president, corporate strategy and special projects. She joins Etihad from TAM Linhas Aéreas where she was chief information officer and director of information technology, processes and projects.

Emirates has appointed two female UAE nationals to the roles of sales manager within the Middle East. Reema Al Marzooqi (pictured) and Asma Al Rahma have both completed Emirates’ commercial manager outstation programme.

flydubai announces new CFO
Flydubai has announced the appointment of Mukesh Sodani as chief financial officer. Sodani joins the company following a stint as CFO of a real estate conglomerate in Dubai. He also brings on board 15 years’ experience in the airline industry, his last role being vice president aircraft financing at Emirates.

Pertl joins Jumeirah Group
Jumeirah Group has appointed Christian Pertl as vice-president of sales and marketing, Dubai. He was previously commercial director for InterContinental, Dubai Festival City. He has also worked for IHG in Vienna and Bucharest.

Rydin for Radisson Blu Hotel
Rezidor has appointed Ian Rydin as general manager of the Radisson Blu Hotel, Dubai Downtown. Rydin joined Rezidor Hotel Group in August 2000 as operations manager responsible for hotel conversions, pre-openings and takeovers before being promoted to director of future openings in 2003.

Hallaba joins V Five Continents
V Five Continents Hospitality Group has appointed Adel Hallaba as director of operations. He was previously director of operations for the Hotel Management Company (HMC) and the Hotel Development Company in Oman. Hallaba has also held senior management positions in various properties in the UAE.

Rotana welcomes Tapken
Rotana announced the appointment of Thomas Tapken as area vice president – Dubai and Northern Emirates.
Tapken’s has 26 years of hospitality experience, most recently as managing director of City Seasons Group in the UAE and he has previously been general manager at various hotels in the UAE, Qatar, Kuwait, Egypt, Spain, Thailand and Kenya.

Turkish Airlines, has announced the appointment of Arif Pasha as sales and marketing manager for Dubai, Sharjah and the northern emirates.
He was previously with Etihad Airways as a key account manager and has a long standing background within the industry.
