VIRGIN Atlantic recently celebrated the fifth anniversary of flights between London and Dubai – the route was launched in March 2006 and was the airline’s 26th destination worldwide with flights operating daily from London Heathrow.

During the five years of direct operations to Dubai, Virgin Atlantic has enabled the country to capitalise on its economic and tourist potential by flying more than 800,000 passengers to the destination.

Brad West, country manager of Virgin Atlantic Dubai, said: “We are delighted to be celebrating Virgin Atlantic’s fifth anniversary of flying between London and Dubai. Dubai is a key business and leisure route for Virgin Atlantic and has proved to be an increasingly popular destination for those with family ties in either country. Last year alone we carried more than 160,000 passengers on the route and we look forward to growing this number even further.”

Virgin Atlantic’s services to Dubai, depart daily from London Heathrow at 9pm arriving at Dubai International Airport at 8am the following morning. Return flights depart daily from Dubai International Airport at 10am and arrive into London Heathrow at 2.05pm. Flights are operated on Airbus A340-600 and A340-300 aircraft fitted with Virgin Atlantic’s award-winning upper class suite, premium economy and economy classes.
