FOLLOWING a highly successful exhibition last year, Conference Cambridge, the official free venue-finding service representing The University of Cambridge and the colleges, is returning to Imex Frankfurt as a stand partner with VisitEngland.

Last year, Conference Cambridge, which is the only organisation representing academic venues on the VisitEngland stand, took inquiries worth £1.4 million ($2.3 million) at the event.

Conference Cambridge will be showcasing the full range of facilities within the university and the colleges to international buyers, highlighting the outstanding venues on offer for all types of meetings including a bespoke administration service for large events.

Judith Sloane, from Conference Cambridge, said: ‘We are delighted to be working in partnership with VisitEngland for the first time and are looking forward to presenting our venues to a world-wide audience.

“Last year we were astounded by the level of global interest and appeal in Cambridge and took inquiries for events up to 2015. Buyers from all over the world came to the stand to see our unique offering for conferences and events - a combination of world-famous historical buildings combined with state-of-the-art meetings technology.

“We are hoping that our visit to Imex will be a continuation of our excellent start to 2011, which has seen us secure five major international events against competition from other destinations around the world.”

Conference Cambridge was established in 1998 and represents 36 venues including 28 Cambridge colleges, as well as university sites, faculty buildings, Cambridge University Press and The Møller Centre. A total of 400 function rooms, 50 tiered theatres and 7,500 bedrooms are available, 3,000 of which are ensuite.
