THE Ramada Plaza Doha proudly introduced ‘The Green Team’ at the beginning of the year, a new group made up of members of staff which was formed to drive forward all types of green and considerate initiatives.
The hotel started recycling paper many months ago using dedicated crate containers but organisers soon realised this could be made much easier, encouraging many more to recycle, if dedicated bins were placed throughout the offices of the property.
So the hotel recently took delivery of 50 blue paper recycling bins. The Green Team quickly went to work to build the bins and have them distributed around the hotel offices, encouraging staff to use them for all office paper waste – already this has been a huge success!
And just a few weeks ago The Green Team proudly collected and deposited three truck loads of Ewaste. The trucks were packed full of discarded items such as old computer monitors, computer hard drives, washing machines, printers, cookers, photo copiers, mobile phones and old car batteries.
Members of the team took the items to Hyatt Plaza where Qtel was holding an EWaste drop day. The hotel had been holding onto the items so they could be recycled properly.
