THE new Grand Millennium Al Wahda has opened 12 new meeting rooms as well as a banquet hall, in its efforts to secure large groups and strengthen its Mice offering.
“The Grand Millennium Al Wahda is the largest hotel in Abu Dhabi and the only hotel in the city capable of accommodating large groups, requiring 300 or more rooms,” said general manager Michael Sorgenfrey. “This unique combination of factors gives us a distinct edge when competing for corporate and large groups which will be our message at GIBTM.”
The property recently unveiled its new meeting and banqueting facilities. Spread between the hotel and the adjoining office tower with a connecting bridge, the 12 rooms can cater to more than 240 delegates between them. The hotel premises itself has four meeting rooms which can be configured in a variety of ways for small board meetings or for larger corporate gatherings of up to 50. All rooms are wifi-enabled and have access to a business centre for photocopying and general office requirements.
There are a number of business centres within the hotel, including a fully equipped facility located within the health and fitness centre – a unique location for travellers to keep up to date with their communications.
The eight meeting rooms in the office tower also offer flexible options for meeting planners and come with the added bonus of data screens. In addition the banquet hall, on the ground floor, can accommodate up to 300 for a theatre style gathering or 150 for a gala dinner.
“The addition of these new facilities now means we have a highly attractive all-round product for the Mice buyer,” said Sorgenfrey. “Added to which is the fact that we have a prime location in the heart of Abu Dhabi City, near the established business districts and the newly developed business centre of the city”
The Grand Millennium Al Wahda offers 585 furnished guestrooms and 265 stylish residences.
