THE Baron Resort Sharm El Sheikh says it has won a 2011 travel award from HolidayCheck, Germany’s travel and holiday web portal, adding to its already impressive collection of 14 awards.
The popular portal’s annual awards are based on the reviews of travellers.
“The resort was chosen among 332 hotels worldwide to receive the award following its recent €3.5 million ($4.8 million) renovation,” says a hotel spokesman. “The upgrade included facelifts for the Italian restaurant Bella Vista, the luxurious bar and cigar lounge which is furnished with Italian leather and Malaysian wood, the Niche Bar, the main restaurant, Sinai, the lobby, Indian eatery the Taj Mahal and the Palm beach restaurant and lounge.”
And to add to the company’s stature in Egypt’s hospitality sector, this year will see the opening of the five-star luxury Baron Palace Resort Sahl Hasheesh comprising 650 rooms and suites, 18 restaurants and bars, a state-of-the-art Mice complex and 5,000 sq m of swimming pools.
