The Salalah Marriott Resort, Oman, has welcomed Michel Pierre Sursock as new general manager. Sursock has worked as a director of sales and marketing across the region and was pre-opening general manager at Royal Tulip Mirbat Resort & Spa in Salalah which became the first Marriott resort in Oman.

Beach Rotana Abu Dhabi has appointed Graeme Ure (pictured) as executive assistant manager in charge of food and beverage. Ure joined Rotana in 2005 as assistant food and beverage manager, opening two properties. The hotel has also welcomed Carmelo Rosselli as Italian executive sous chef in charge of Prego’s kitchen.

The City Seasons Group of Hotels has appointed Nehal Rizvi as director of sales and marketing for the two Dubai properties.
Rizvi has been in the hospitality industry for more than 26 years. He moved to the UAE in 2002 joining the Riviera Hotel, Deira, Dubai and the Metropolitan Deira Hotel.

He is overseeing the fourth Dubai-Copenhagen winter season as well as handling the Middle East, African, Indian and Middle and South American markets. He spent the last eight years as country sales manager for SAS in Germany.

Horst Walther-Jones has been appointed general manager of the Mövenpick Hotel Jumeirah Beach Dubai. He was previously general manager of the Mövenpick Resort Al Nawras in Saudi Arabia. During his 30 years in the hospitality industry, he has worked throughout Europe, Asia, Latin America and the Middle East.

Etihad Airways has appointed Jumana Jihad Amleh as the airline’s new country manager for Jordan. Amleh, who has more than 10 years’ aviation experience previously held a variety of senior sales positions in Jordan working for Emirates Airline.

TUR, Scandinavia’s leading travel trade event has welcomed a new exhibition manager.
Per Magnusson, originally a business lawyer, joined TUR in January 2008, following six years at the Swedish Fair and Congress Centre in Gothenburg where he worked as a project manager.
