JANUARY 2011 promises to be one of the busiest starts to the year on record for Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC) with around 4,500 exhibiting companies and 110,000 trade visitors from over 100 countries expected in this month alone.
DWTC will start the New Year on solid footing by hosting six of the Middle East’s most prolific events in sectors including petrochemicals, security, education, human resources, production services and healthcare and biotechnology.
DWTC CEO Helal Saeed Almarri said: “With an impressive line-up of events, DWTC is ideally positioned for another signature year and remains committed to providing the ideal networking platform by hosting a global calendar of world-class events. The commencement of 2011 showcases the growth of a number of the region’s most significant sector-specific shows, highlighting the positive market outlook of the events industry, as it continues to drive business tourism and economic growth to the region. “
The impressive programme of events scheduled for January includes the world’s second largest healthcare exhibition, Arab Health. The 2010 edition saw a record 66,000 participating professional visitors and delegates and more than 2,700 exhibitors from 58 countries, delivering a 20 per cent increase in exhibitor and visitor volumes from the previous year.
Other leading regional and international shows coming up include the Intersec Exhibition, the Education UK Exhibition (EDUKEX 2011); the International Human Resources Conference & Exhibition and the Sign and Graphic Imaging Middle East Exhibition. Representing some of the region’s high-priority industries, the exhibitions play a critical role in the forging of strategic and lucrative business deals as well as acting as centres of expert knowledge exchange.
January’s theme of groundbreaking shows will be continued through to February with the world’s largest food and beverage trade exhibition, Gulfood, set to host an unprecedented 3,800 exhibitors and 80 national pavilions covering more than a million square feet of exhibition space and 2011’s calendar of events also introduces a number of new world-class congresses including the Human Genome Conference, the International Public Transport Congress (UITP) and the International Bar Association Congress amongst others.
