AS THE Blossom Japan sales team slowly winds down and applies the breaks, the event and buyer teams are putting the pedal to the metal and overtaking the sales force with the launch of iEvent – the online system facilitating pre-scheduled appointments for the new event which will kick start the calendar year in the luxury travel industry.
It is appropriate and timely for Japan and Blossom to kick off the new year as the sunrise on this amazingly cultured country with its traditions set deeply over thousands of years.
The depth these traditions reach may be seen to stretch business practices which are so different from the rest of the world. With the support of the Japan Tourism Agency and the Tokyo Metropolitan Government, Blossom Japan will enter this tough, but highly-lucrative market, to not only break the traditions of how the travel trade does business in Japan but also to set a precedent across the world.
To kick off this inaugural event, Blossom Japan has had some tremendous support from top luxury brands and products. The Leading Hotels of The World (LHW) in particular has been committed since the launch of the show. As a result, LHW has delivered 10 unique members who will be presenting at Blossom Japan 2011 such as Halekulani, Hotel Le Bristol, Sun International, Shanti Maurice A Nira Resort, GHM Luxury Hotels, Fancourt, Capella Singapore and Hotel de Crillon.
Blossom Japan promises to deliver the highest quality of buyers from Asia-Pacific, Australia, the US, the Middle East and Europe the likes of which would normally only be expected in a successful world event. Japanese buyers have been sought to understand and embrace the event which has landed on their shores for the first time and they are also anxious to meet with the luxury brands and products presented at Blossom Japan.
A spokeswoman said: “While there are obstacles and challenges encountered in the lead up to the show, Blossom is ready to face its toughest critics and deliver a world-class event.”
Blossom Japan 2011, from January 18 to 21, will commence with a full-day conference followed by a three-day exhibition at the Tokyo International Forum, centrally located in Ginza. Social events are planned each night to facilitate further networking opportunities for everyone. And finally, one free day in Tokyo is also included in the package to allow all participants to experience the best that Tokyo and the surrounding regions have to offer.
