LUXURY operator One&Only Resorts has opened the doors to its second, ultra-lavish boutique resort in Dubai.
After a soft launch on October 10, the hotel welcomed guests on November 15, 2010. Sol Kerzner’s latest addition to the One&Only chain is situated on The Palm Jumeirah, offering guests an exclusive island-feel getaway accessed via private limousines or water taxis from sister property, the One&Only Royal Mirage.
One&Only, The Palm, is part and parcel of the brand’s development strategy and displays commitment and trust towards the ever-growing tourism industry in the region.
This low-rise boutique resort’s external architecture blends Moorish and Andalucian influences, while the interiors display contemporary, chic living, giving guests a sense of style, elegance and complete privacy – which is a key aspect of the One&Only experience.
Surrounded by lush landscaped gardens, the resort consists of 35 suites and apartments within the grand Manor House and includes the Grand Palm Suite, which offers 270 sq m of living space overlooking the pool and private marina, six independent low-rise mansions and, for the ultimate hideaway experience, the top-of-the range, two- and three-bedroom beachfront villas.
The accommodations are spacious and fashionably styled from the latest in-room technology, with an interactive media pack and 46-inch plasma screens, to oversized marble bathrooms with walk-in rain showers and free-standing baths.
Every room or suite at the One&Only, The Palm offers outdoor terrace or private plunge pool, with panoramic views of the Dubai skyline. Guests staying in the suites, apartments and villas have a dedicated butler at their service 24 hours a day. The resort also features private cabanas, available for daily rent, located beside the 850-sq-m pool, a private beach and the 2,400-sq-m One&Only The Spa, fitness and beauty complex.
The spa has nine private suites set amidst fountains and open courtyards and offers a range of Espa therapies. A signature treatment at the One&Only, The Spa is the private Rhassoul (clay) experiencewhich is offered exclusively in the couple’s suite which includes double scrub rooms and shower, private Rhassoul, water jets, two separate soaking baths, two treatment beds and a private relaxation area. A secluded VIP entrance, lobby area and garden terrace ensure ultimate privacy and exclusivity.
In addition, One&Only, The Palm has developed specific treatments or journeys for personal wellness and lifestyle aspects such as nutrition, skin care, physiotherapy and detox programmes to create a ‘private spa’ concept philosophy.
Guests at the property can also access the wide range of water sports activities at the nearby One&Only Royal Mirage including sailing, kayaking, Hobie Cats, windsurfing, water-skiing and fishing. Sailing and an adrenaline-packed water park are also available nearby.
One&Only, The Palm has much to offer food enthusiasts. With a spectacular range of local and international cuisine options, the resort offers three distinct dining outlets – Zest, 101 and Stay by Yannick Alléno, all under the culinary guidance of Michelin-starred chef Yannick Alléno.
Zest all-day dining has an elegant and light ambience and its generous seating makes it an ideal choice for dining with friends and family. The 101 restaurant with its al-fresco dining opens onto a chill-out lounge with daybeds, beach-side tables and bar where guests can enjoy a selection of light Mediterranean fare from tapas and large fresh salads to seafood. Stay by Yannick Alléno provides the property’s fine-dining experience. Innovative seating arrangements such as conversation and sharing tables as well as unique pastry library concepts invite guests to discover and share special dining experiences.
According to general manager Michael Payne: “The established success of the One&Only Royal Mirage Dubai is a testimony that Dubai warrants such exclusive high-end hospitality for its present and future.
“With its attractive location, limited room inventory and the romantic island-feel getaway, One&Only, The Palm will definitely attract a niche market seeking privacy, comfort and exclusivity.”
