PHILOXENIA, which takes place from November 18 to 21 in the Exhibition Center of Thessaloniki, Greece, aims to be a ‘spearhead’ for the development of Greek tourism.
Its leading market position is demonstrated by the presence of foreign government investment arms, tourist offices, hotels, airlines and shipping companies, local authorities and tourist guides operating on a national and international level.
Companies participating in the 26th Philoxenia will enjoy international exposure, direct contact with leading businesses, the prospect of direct professional agreements and partnerships and multi-level co-operation through the hosted-buyers programme which is running for the fifth year with a scheme of pre-booked appointments with tour operators from at least 25 destinations.
Increased marketability in the region of northern Greece is expected to be achieved through the first Hotelia-Expro & Clean 2010 (hotel equipment fair), which will operate in parallel with Philoxenia.
On November 20, during Hotelia-Expro & Clean, there will be a seminar for hoteliers on the subject of how to make your hotel stand out in creative and cost-effective ways. The seminar is organised by Respond On Demand and entrance is free.
Representatives of the European Commission and European Parliament, the Greek government, international organisations, associations, tourism businesses and large enterprises operating at the European level will take part in the 3rd European Conference on Tourism entitled ‘A New Model for Tourism’ which will explore the possibility to create and further develop a new model for tourism looking at various aspects from environment and culture tourism to future developments and marketing strategies.
The European Tourism Conference is organised by Helexpo and Europress Media Group under the auspices of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism with the support of the International Department of the Association of European Journalists, European Business Review magazine and Best of Greece.
