Etihad introduces India Connect

Etihad Guest, the loyalty programme of Etihad Airways, has launched a new programme called India Connect, an exclusive club designed to offer a wide range of benefits to Etihad Guest members travelling to and from India.

Once registered at www.etihadindiaconnect.com, members will be able to access a range of exclusive benefits, including: travel offers on Etihad Airways’ Indian routes and  discounts and special deals with a variety of partners in India and abroad including hotels, restaurants, retail outlets, entertainment outlets and community associations.

Million fliers at AUH

July saw Abu Dhabi International Airport welcome one million passengers for the first time in its history.

 To celebrate this significant milestone, ADAC (Abu Dhabi Airports Company) identified its one millionth customer as Mohamed Salem Al Khatri, who arrived on an Etihad Airways flight from London Heathrow and was warmly welcomed by Yusuf Al Jowder, head of terminal operations at ADAC, and Amir Abu Ganaya, senior airport traffic analyst, and presented with a gift and shopping voucher.

THY begins US flights

Passengers will soon be able to enjoy direct flights from Istanbul to Los Angeles and Washington, US. From November 7, Turkish Airlines (THY) will fly to Washington five times a week, from Tuesday to Friday and on Sundays. And flights to Los Angeles are scheduled to be operational from March 3, 2011, with a frequency of four times a week, on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays.

Special inaugural airfares will apply on the flights to Washington starting from €1038 ($1,331) and to Los Angeles starting at €1018 ($1,305).

Travel services partnership

Etihad Airways has signed an MoU with Abu Dhabi general services company Musanada, to provide efficient travel solutions to employees of Abu Dhabi government entities.

The partnership will offer a range of benefits including a one-stop-shop for employees to arrange and book business and leisure travel with Etihad Airways, via Musanada’s 24/7 e-booking platform, dedicated account management and VIP service desk arrangements and special offers and holiday packages.

Houston and LA flights boost

Emirates Airline announced the launch of second daily flights to Los Angeles and Houston.

The carrier, which recorded a significant increase in revenue for the Americas in 2009-10, will soon offer more than 15,000 seats on 98 return flights per week to the US.

 Starting October 31 for Los Angeles and November 1 for Houston, Emirates will fly non-stop to both cities twice a day on Boeing 777 aircraft.
