ABU DHABI Gold Club, which hosts the European Tour’s Abu Dhabi Golf Championship, has been included in Golf World’s worldwide Top 100 rankings.

The club, which is owned by Abu Dhabi based master developer Tourism Development & Investment Company (TDIC) and managed by Troon Golf, has long been regarded as one of the finest Championship venues on the European PGA Tour and has been showered with praise from the world’s elite professional golfers and it has now received further validation.

“We are delighted to receive such recognition from Golf World and its Top 100 ranking panel,” said Ken Kosak, general manager, Abu Dhabi Golf Club.

“The golf course has matured immeasurably and is one of the finest conditioned golf courses you will find anywhere in the region. This is a significant moment for the course and further testament to Abu Dhabi’s commitment to grow tourism in the region through world-class leisure facilities. It is a very proud moment for all involved and a great boost for the momentum of the game here.”

The course, carved seamlessly out of the desert, is situated 20 minutes from the city centre and 10 minutes from Abu Dhabi International Airport.

The club, designed by world-renowned golf course architect Peter Harradine, features one 18-hole golf course and one nine-hole course. Combined they occupy 162 hectares and feature undulating terrain meandering through pockets of palms and ornamental trees, shrubs and seven saltwater lakes. The impressive Falcon clubhouse has become one of the most iconic landmarks in world golf.
