HX Expeditions has unveiled its 2028/29 season, featuring 57 voyages across 14 destinations, including 26 new itineraries, two destinations new to the company and five major product innovations.
The season expands HX’s global expedition offering with new
routes in Alaska, Antarctica, Scandinavia, Arctic Canada and Greenland,
alongside expanded programmes in Svalbard and the Galápagos. The company will
also introduce nine Ocean Crossing voyages linking expedition regions across
the Atlantic and Pacific.
"The voyages may be new, but the expertise behind them
is not," said Gebhard Rainer, CEO of HX Expeditions. "At HX,
exploration is about more than reaching remote destinations. It's about how you
experience them: with insight, intention and respect. The 2028/29 season builds
on more than 130 years of expedition heritage, creating new ways for guests to
connect with the people, wildlife and landscapes that make these places so
extraordinary."
In Alaska, HX will introduce new eight-day Inside Passage
expeditions between Vancouver and Sitka, developed with Indigenous communities
and local stakeholders. Two 17-day Aleutians to Katmai voyages will also
explore lesser-visited wilderness areas.
The Antarctic programme will add a 19-day Antarctica &
South Georgia itinerary, while HX will use Stanley in the Falkland Islands as a
gateway to Antarctica for the first time in more than a decade for a shorter
expedition combining the Falklands, South Georgia and Antarctica.
HX is also launching its first dedicated Scandinavia
programme, including voyages through the Baltic Sea and Gulf of Bothnia between
Sweden and Finland. Other itineraries will explore Norway, Denmark and Sweden.
In Arctic Canada, the 19-day Baffin Island circumnavigation
will attempt a transit of the rarely navigated Fury and Hecla Strait, combining
Arctic landscapes with Inuit culture and history.
Greenland will gain new eight-day Disko Bay voyages,
creating a more flexible programme ranging from eight to 15 days. Meanwhile, HX
will operate 23 Svalbard departures in 2028, extending the season into
September for the first time.
The year-round Galápagos programme aboard MS Santa Cruz II
will continue with wildlife-focused itineraries and Machu Picchu extensions.
The nine new Ocean Crossing voyages will turn repositioning
journeys into dedicated experiences, featuring lectures, workshops, wildlife
watching and selected port calls across the Atlantic and Pacific. -TradeArabia News Service
