Marriott unveils Ritz-Carlton Residences in Brooklyn Heights

Marriott International and real estate firm SomeraRoad have unveiled98 Montague Street, a 14-storey Renaissance Revival landmark that opened in 1909.

 SomeraRoad acquired the property in 2025 and Ritz-Carlton hospitality, including personalised services, a 24-hour-attended lobby and amenities focused on wellness, leisure and entertaining.

Residents will plans for The Ritz-Carlton Residences, Brooklyn Heights, a luxury residential development that will bring The Ritz-Carlton brand to Brooklyn for the first time.

The project will transform the historic Hotel Bossert at 98 Montague Street, a 14-storey Renaissance Revival landmark that opened in 1909.

SomeraRoad acquired the property in 2025 and plans to restore its distinctive architectural features, including its brick façade, granite and limestone detailing, terra-cotta cornice and arched windows.

The development will combine private residences with Ritz-Carlton hospitality, including personalised services, a 24-hour-attended lobby and amenities focused on wellness, leisure and entertaining.

Residents will also have access to benefits through Marriott’s Residence Owner Recognition Program.

Union Square Hospitality Group, founded by Danny Meyer, will open its first full-service Brooklyn restaurant on the building’s ground floor.

The restaurant is expected to serve both residents and the wider Brooklyn Heights community.

The project is designed by New York architecture firm Helmle & Huberty, which originally designed the Hotel Bossert.

The restoration will seek to preserve the building’s historic character while introducing updated residential and hospitality spaces.

Marriott said the development represents the 50th standalone residence in The Ritz-Carlton Residences’ global development portfolio.

Construction is expected to begin later this year, with completion scheduled for 2029. Sales and marketing will be led by SERHANT.
