The Peninsula Hotels
has secured its first appearances in the top 50 of The World’s 50 Best Hotels
2026, with The Peninsula Istanbul ranked No.31 and The Peninsula Hong Kong
No.46. The Peninsula Shanghai also entered the extended 51-100 list at No.99.
The rankings were
announced in Paris on September 15, recognising hotels for innovation,
creativity and excellence in hospitality.
The results highlight
the growing international recognition of The Peninsula’s properties across Hong
Kong, Shanghai and Istanbul.
“We are deeply
honoured to be recognised by The 50 Best Hotels Academy and to stand alongside
other distinguished hotels,” said Benjamin Vuchot, Executive Director and Chief
Executive Officer of The Peninsula’s parent company, The Hongkong and Shanghai
Hotels, Limited. “This achievement reflects the extraordinary commitment of our
colleagues across our recognised properties, whose passion, expertise, and
dedication to creating unforgettable guest experiences continue to define The
Peninsula standard of hospitality around the world. We are immensely proud of
our teams and grateful for this acknowledgment of their continued pursuit of
excellence.”
The Peninsula
Istanbul, which opened in 2023, was the only hotel in Türkiye to make this
year’s top 50.
The Peninsula Hong
Kong, the brand’s flagship since 1928, improved from No.54 in the previous
ranking as it approaches its centenary in 2028.
The Peninsula
Shanghai, located on the Bund and opened in 2009, made its first appearance on
the extended list, reflecting the property’s combination of contemporary luxury
and Shanghai’s historic and cultural character.
The 2026 rankings were
compiled by an independent academy of more than 800 hospitality experts.-TTN
