Íslandshótel, Iceland’s largest hotel company, has signed an agreement with hospitality technology provider Aven Hospitality to consolidate direct booking and Global Distribution System (GDS) connectivity across 18 of its 19 properties.
The partnership will introduce a centralised commerce
platform powered by SynXis CRS, incorporating Aven Booking Engine,
Corporate/Agent Tool and GDS Distribution.
The integrated system aims to simplify booking and
distribution management, expand access to leisure agencies and corporate travel
management companies, and streamline demand across direct and indirect
channels.
The platform will also integrate with Íslandshótel’s
existing technology systems, modernising booking experiences for guests and
travel agencies while minimising disruption to current operations.
“Bringing our booking and distribution into one connected
platform is an important step for us,” said Ásmundur Sævarsson, Chief
Commercial Officer at Íslandshótel. “Aven will help us simplify how we manage
distribution across our portfolio, strengthen the booking experience for guests
and travel partners, and give us a flexible platform to support our continued
growth.”
“Managing commerce across 18 properties and multiple booking channels requires
a platform that can bring greater simplicity and consistency to the
experience,” said Gene Guhne, senior vice president of sales at Aven
Hospitality. “By bringing GDS distribution and booking capabilities into a more
connected ecosystem, we’re giving Íslandshótel a stronger foundation to serve
guests and travel partners across channels while creating the flexibility to
support its continued growth.” -TTN
