Minor Hotels will launch Avani Cypress Lakes Resort in New South Wales’ Hunter Valley from October 2026, transforming the existing Oaks Cypress Lakes Resort and Elysia Wellness Retreat into Australia’s largest integrated resort wellness precinct.
Spanning 340 acres, the resort will become the largest Avani
property in Australasia, featuring 204 rooms and suites, an 18-hole golf
course, AvaniWell spa and wellness centre, 24 meetings and events spaces,
restaurants, a pool bar and all-day dining.
Craig Hooley, Chief Operating Officer of Minor Hotels
Australasia, said the Hunter Valley had strong potential as a leading wellness
destination.
“We believe the Hunter Valley has all the hallmarks
necessary to establish itself as Australia’s home of wellness,” said Hooley.
“From winery visits and long-table lunches to Pilates classes, cold plunges and
educational seminars, modern wellness is personal, flexible and increasingly
integrated into everyday travel.”
The resort will introduce AvaniWell to Australia, offering
70 wellness suites, 26 treatment rooms, Pilates reformers, infrared saunas,
cold-plunge pools and a magnesium pool.
Guests will have access to wellness programmes, treatments,
fitness classes and day-spa experiences.
Additional facilities will include pickleball courts, an
outdoor cinema and new dining concepts.
The phased
redevelopment is expected to be completed in the third quarter of 2027. -TTN
