Auko Eco-Wellness Lodges has opened bookings at its new retreat in Phong Nha-Ke Bang, Vietnam

From longevity diagnostics in Greece and sleep tourism in Japan to Red Sea biohacking and Vietnamese eco-lodges, global hospitality is fundamentally pivoting toward restorative health. Properties worldwide are moving beyond traditional pampering, integrating scientific recovery, sound healing, gut health, and bio-regional wellness traditions to meet the demands of performance-driven travellers.

Meliá debuts sound healing

Meliá Pattaya Hotel has launched a rooftop sound healing experience overlooking the Gulf of Thailand, combining therapeutic sound frequencies with guided relaxation to support physical and mental wellbeing. Private sessions are available at YHI Spa, alongside group and corporate wellness experiences. The hotel also offers a sunrise Yoga with Sound Bath session, combining a 45-minute yoga class with a 20-minute sound healing experience, available by advance booking through the spa.

Hotels embrace sleep tourism

Hotels are increasingly responding to the growing demand for sleep tourism by making restorative sleep a central part of the guest experience. Properties including Ananda in the Himalayas, The Dylan Amsterdam, Hotel Belmar and Imperial Hotel Tokyo have introduced dedicated sleep-focused offerings. These range from personalised wellness programmes and Ayurvedic therapies to climate-controlled beds, guided relaxation rituals and customised bedding.

These initiatives combine wellness, technology and nature-based experiences to improve sleep quality and overall wellbeing. They reflect a broader shift towards preventive health and travel centred on rest, recovery and long-term health.
