Sun Siyam Resorts’ new Vice President, Operations to drive growth

Sun Siyam Resorts has promoted a hospitality veteran to the position of Vice President of Operations to streamline processes, elevate guest experiences, ensure operational excellence across all its properties, and support the brand’s growth strategy.

Abdulla Thamheed has a remarkable 27-year career in hospitality. He began working as a waiter at the age of 15 in 1996. He joined Sun Siyam Resorts in 2003 as a Food and Beverage Coordinator and worked his way up. He has been key in overseeing operations at Siyam World and Sun Siyam Iru Fushi.

In 2013, Thamheed became Group General Manager, overseeing six Sun Siyam resorts across the Maldives and Sri Lanka. He also played a key role in opening Siyam World in 2021.
