The Geneva resort’s enticing pool

Opening in June 2010, the 1,400-sq-m destination spa of the Grand Hotel Kempinski Geneva will offer state-of-the-art fitness facilities, Cinq Mondes expertise for unique massages and treatments, yoga and a swimming pool to ensure the ultimate body and soul experience.

Created by Tarek Hegazy, president and CEO of AB Living Design Sweden, the spa features a blend of Arabic and Asian influences through a contemporary approach that is reflected in every part of it.

The sense of design is unparalleled with warm, elegant yet functional rooms and use of natural materials such as wood, mosaic, bamboo and flowers. The spa blends a luxurious and refined atmosphere magnified by the marble floor and the golden ceiling, mixing warm colours and a diffusion of sandal wood and amber fragrances to awaken the senses.

This exclusive area, laid out on two levels, includes 12 treatment rooms including a VIP spa suite, with double bath and private hammam, a relaxation area, a patio, a state-of-the-art fitness centre, an indoor swimming pool, a yoga room, a hammam with two scrubbing rooms and a reception area with a boutique.

“With the opening of our Spa, we achieve the objective we committed to three years ago: positioning the Grand Hotel Kempinski Geneva as a unique destination in the heart of the city,” said general manager Michael Henssler.

With an ongoing concern for authenticity, quality of service and a sense of ceremony, the Cinq Mondes experience goes beyond well-being and authenticity. “Fascinated by massages, aromatherapy and cosmetics, I have spent more than 10 years criss-crossing the globe to find the best treatments from around the world,” says Jean-Louis Poiroux, founder of the prestigious brand. Respecting the five formulation principles - tested under dermatological control, no silicone, no artificial colouring, no animal-based raw materials and no mineral oil - the Cinq Mondes cosmetic preparations benefit from the effectiveness of plant extracts from the pharmacopoeia of the country of origin whilst guaranteeing total safety.
