FAIRMONT Hotels & Resorts opens its first property in the UAE capital this month, on the Abu Dhabi Creek.
Positioned at the mainland gateway of the city and situated directly on the beachfront, the Fairmont Bab Al Bahr means ‘Gateway to the Sea’.
Michael Kaile, the hotel’s general manager, said: “Abu Dhabi is fast developing into one of the most exciting cities in the Middle East and Fairmont Bab Al Bahr is poised to complement this growth by providing both the local community and international travellers with a new top-class venue. The innovative hotel design, conference and leisure facilities, a full dining portfolio combined with renowned Fairmont hospitality will strengthen our brand’s position in the UAE capital.”
The hotel benefits from spectacular views of the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, with easy access to Abu Dhabi City Centre and Corniche, and is in close proximity to Abu Dhabi International Airport.
Fairmont Bab Al Bahr offers 369 guest rooms, more than 2,500sq/m of function space (opening early 2010), a private sandy beach front, two outdoor swimming pools, a fitness centre and Willow Stream Spa (also opening 2010), that will offer a full range of signature treatments.
A unique interior design feature within the rooms is that most guests will be able to take a bath with a view – many bathtubs overlook the creek.
Fairmont Bab Al Bahr will also feature Fairmont Gold, the brand’s exclusive lifestyle offering, with a private reception area, a dedicated lounge and a full range of bespoke services and amenities.
Dining options include eight restaurants and lounges including a Frankie’s Italian Restaurant and Bar, created by jockey Frankie Dettori and the hotel will also present the first Marco Pierre White Steakhouse & Grill outside of the UK, which will serve the choicest cuts of beef and house a largest selection of wine.
The property is Fairmont’s second in the UAE, the Fairmont Dubai being its first.
