A three-month environmental campaign has been launched at the Doha College, a leading British school in Qatar, in collaboration with award-winning environmental solutions provider averda and luxury lifestyle hotel W Doha Hotel & Residences. The project has been launched to raise awareness of the importance of recycling by engaging both students and parents in a number of competitions to recycle plastic bottles and cans using averda’s reverse vending machines.

From January to March, monthly competitions to recycle as many plastic bottles and cans will take place amongst students, classrooms and families, with the opportunity to win a number of exciting prizes at W Doha including cupcakes from W Café, and an all-inclusive weekend stay. The campaign’s overall mission is to promote recycling as a daily habit in people’s lives by inspiring them to care for the ecosystem and take responsibility for their actions.

In keeping with Qatar’s 2030 national vision, the environmental campaign is key to ensuring the community is driven by a number of socially responsible companies that educate and raise public awareness. Recently, W Doha was honoured as the first hotel in Qatar to be awarded with the prestigious international environmental certificate, ‘Green Key’, whilst averda continues to be a major driving force to sustainable environmental solutions in Doha and the throughout Middle East.
