marhaba opens new lounges
IN the first quarter of 2013, marhaba has opened two new lounges at Dubai International Airport in Dubai, UAE. The new lounges, located in Terminal 2 and Concourse A, provide increased capacity for passengers arriving and departing from Dubai. Concourse A lounge includes 175 seats and 75 in the Terminal 2 lounge. To ensure guests are comfortable during their time at the airport, marhaba lounges feature exclusive business centres, food service and marhaba representatives.
Turkish Airlines flies to Aqaba
TURKISH Airlines has started flying to Aqaba in Jordan, its 221st destination. The airline now operates flights from Istanbul to Aqaba three times a week, its second destination in Jordan, in addition to operations to the capital city of Amman. The introductory round trip fares from Istanbul to Aqaba start at JOD 90 ($139) including taxes and fees.
Turkish Airlines recently announced Houston, the airline’s fifth city in America, as its 220th destination and remains the only airline which provides four-star service quality across all service-classes in Europe.
American Airlines goes non-stop to Seoul
AMERICAN Airlines has launched daily non-stop flights from Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) in the US to Incheon International Airport in Seoul, marking the airline’s first flight ever into South Korea. American will serve the route originating from DFW’s International Terminal D using Boeing 777-200 aircraft with three classes of service.
As American’s largest hub, DFW hosts convenient connections to 149 US destinations, with each major city less than four hours away by air. The new flight creates more capacity between two of the world’s most highly regarded international airports. The new service to Seoul continues DFW’s unprecedented momentum in adding new international service.
Air Arabia Q1 profit increases
AIR Arabia, the first and largest low-cost carrier in the Middle East and North Africa reported a net profit of Dh59 million ($16 million) for the three months ending March 31, 2013, exceeding analysts’ forecast and registering an increase of 20 per cent compared to Dh49 million ($13 million) in the corresponding quarter in 2012. The airline attributes the impressive growth to its appealing product offering and strong operational performance.
In the first quarter of this year, Air Arabia posted a turnover of Dh722 million ($196 million), an increase of 22 per cent compared to Dh594 million ($161 million) in the same period of 2012.
