Viceroy Hotel Group appoints Kohn
Viceroy Hotel Group has appointed Andreas Kohn as regional director of sales and marketing for the Middle East and Europe. In his new role, Kohn will oversee the Yas Viceroy and the opening of Viceroy Maldives and Viceroy Bodrum. More recently, he was director of sales and marketing at The Ritz-Carlton, Millenia, Singapore.

Jumeirah Group has appointed Detria Williamson Chapman (right) as director of marketing and public relations for Burj Al Arab and Christopher Walters as director of public relations for Jumeirah Essex House, New York. Ross McAuley takes charge as vice president, Brand Marketing while Shaf Butt is the new director of marketing for the Dubai commercial team.

New GM’s at the Carlson Rezidor Group
The Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group announced Freddy Farid (right) as GM of the Radisson Royal Hotel, Dubai. Farid moves from Layia Hospitality, where he was VP and managing partner. The company also appointed Khamis Kazzaz as GM for Radisson Blu Hotel, Dubai Downtown and Rob Collier as GM of the Radisson Blu Residence, Dubai Marina.

Fady Sawaya has been appointed as general manager for Crowne Plaza Beirut. Sawaya has held various positions with the Intercontinental Phoenicia, Beirut, InterContinental Hotel Abu Dhabi and most recently Crowne Plaza and Staybridge Suites Abu Dhabi Yas Island, as hotel manager.

Traders Hotel, Dubai has appointed Mohamed Taher as director of sales & marketing. Prior to his new role, he was director of sales for Shangri-La Hotel, Dubai. Taher also spent six years with Accor where he managed Accor International Sales office for the Middle East.

Hyatt assign Graf for SouthWest Asia
Hyatt Hotels & Resorts has appointed Pablo Graf to the position of senior vice president of operations for Hyatt International, South West Asia, based in Dubai. As GM, he has led Hyatt teams in Poland, Mexico, India, Thailand as well as Park Hyatt, Dubai. Prior to his current appointment Graf served as the regional vice president for Rosewood Hotels & Resorts.

The InterContinental Doha, The City has welcomed Renzo Cavagliotti as general manager of the hotel. Cavagliotti has worked with the IHG in the US, Brazil, Indonesia, Spain and UK. In the GCC and Levant he was with the InterContinental Le Vendome in Beirut, The Regency InterContinental in Bahrain and the InterContinental Muscat.

The Al Bustan Rotana Dubai has appointed Bilal Mehdi as director of Human Resources. Mehdi joined the Rotana Group in 2004, and has been part of the pre-opening teams of four Rotana properties. Prior to his new role he was the director of HR at Fujairah Rotana Resort and Spa.

Most recently he worked as general manager and operations support for IHG IMEA. Koth brings over 30 years of experience holding several GM positions with IHG hotels in Cairo, Doha, Budapest and Athens.

Aouini has worked for a number of European hotel chains across the region. Pior to joining Dusit Thani Dubai, he worked and pre-opened various hotels and resorts in Libya, the Maldives and Dubai, before being part of a pre-opening team in the Maldives.
