Crowne Plaza by IHG has opened Crowne Plaza Manhattan Times Square, its new Americas flagship, marking another milestone in the premium hotel brand’s global transformation and focus on blended travel.
Developed by Al Rayyan Tourism Investment Company (ARTIC)
and managed by Highgate, the 22-storey property occupies a New York landmark
originally built for the 1964 World’s Fair.
The hotel features 685 guestrooms with city views, alongside
spaces designed for work, socialising and relaxation.
Located near Times Square, Rockefeller Centre, the Broadway Theatre
District and Central Park, the property aims to cater to travellers combining
business, leisure and personal time during a single trip.
The hotel’s dining and social hub, Fifty-First Street
Social, operates as an all-day restaurant and bar, while a 24/7 Marketplace
provides grab-and-go food and travel essentials. Locally inspired artwork and
murals by artist Tiago Magro add to the property’s contemporary design.
Guest experiences include Crowne Plaza’s Weekly Socials,
which bring travellers and locals together through destination-inspired food
and beverage offerings, as well as Daily Rituals focused on wellness and sleep.
For business travellers and groups, the hotel offers
flexible meeting facilities, The Studio for smaller collaborative sessions and
a dedicated Meetings & Events Concierge.
The Manhattan Level occupies the hotel’s upper floors,
offering suites and guestrooms with skyline views and residential-inspired
interiors.
The 22nd-floor Broadway Suite features an expansive terrace
for celebrations and special occasions.

Working closely with IHG, we have reimagined the hotel while preserving its unique character, and we are delighted to see its new chapter begin as Crowne Plaza Manhattan Times Square. This transformation represents much more than a renovation; it reflects our long-term vision for the asset and our confidence in New York and the strong US hospitality market. At ARTIC, we invest with a long-term perspective, continually enhancing our properties, strengthening their competitive positioning and creating sustainable value. The United States remains a key market for ARTIC, and we see significant long-term potential to further strengthen our presence, while continuing to invest in our existing portfolio and pursue opportunities that support ARTIC’s long-term growth and diversification.” -TTN
