MÖVENPICK Hotels & Resorts’ vigorous expansion strategy will see the opening of four hotels in Africa during 2010.
Tunisia, Palestine and Ghana are the focus of the group’s latest development plans in its marketing mission of enhancing the brand name in Africa.
“Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts Africa is very pleased to confirm that our ongoing efforts to provide the highest quality within our operations and the consistent delivery of high performance has been recognised by many international owners, as shown by our continued success in developing new properties in Africa,” said Christian Grage, vice president operations for Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts Africa.
“This year alone four openings in three countries with more than 1,000 rooms, trendy food and beverage outlets and unique spa concepts will add to an already unique base of more than 16 operations.”
Two of the openings are in Tunisia. The Mövenpick Hotel Gammarth Tunis is planned to open in July 2010 overlooking one of the most stunning bays of the Mediterranean.
The five-star upscale hotel is in an exclusive residential area and provides the ideal blend for business and pleasure.
Just 15 minutes from Tunis Carthage Airport, the Mövenpick Hotel Gammarth Tunis, features 108 fully-equipped rooms and nine suites, most with sea views, five restaurants, a glorious beach, pools, tennis courts and a fitness centre.
Farther along Tunisia’s beautiful coastline, Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts ‘Pearl of the Mediterranean’ in Sousse will be ready for its official grand opening in October 2010. The Mövenpick Resort & Marine Spa Sousse is an idyllic beachside hotel on the lively coastline in the heart of the city.
Opening August 15, the eagerly-awaited Mövenpick Hotel Ramallah in Palestine will be the city’s only modern five-star hotel and its 172 rooms include 116 king rooms, eight diplomatic suites and two presidential suites. The hotel is ideally situated in the diplomatic Almasyoun quarter, just minutes from the city centre’s excellent shopping and entertainment venues.
Impressively completing the group’s African expansion in 2010 will be the Mövenpick Ambassador Hotel Accra, scheduled to open on October 15, 2010, in the capital city’s business sector. Comprising 268 rooms, including seven bay suites and a presidential suite, the luxurious property overlooks the Atlantic Ocean.
“Within our development strategy of expanding the group’s regional and international presence, we have a special market mission to enhance Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts’ brand name in Africa,” said Pascal Fitoussi, director of sales and marketing for Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts Africa.
