The landmark hotel building

Al Faisaliah Hotel, A Rosewood Hotel, in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, a leading property in the Middle East, is expanding its luxury offering with the launch of a new wing in the summer of 2010.

With 106 rooms and suites, a fusion Italian restaurant and a ladies-only spa, the development will firm up the hotel’s reputation as an exclusive destination, combining modern luxury with traditional design.

Situated in the Olaya district of Riyadh, the hotel already boasts a deluxe, sophisticated standing. The new  wing offers the largest hotel rooms to be found in the kingdom, complete with modern facilities such as touch-based technology, spacious dining, living and working areas and it is designed with an eye for both international standards and local traditions.

The inclusion of Islamic art and culture is a key element of the new wing and the ambitious project was undertaken by HRH Princess Al Anoud, owner of Al Dar Designs, with a determined nod to time and place.

A room in the new wing

The wing combines forward-thinking, international design with historic, Royal Ottoman Iznic patterns, hailing from the 16th century.

These patterns are presented in various forms, from wall hangings to accessories, and closely complement the soothing selection of colours on display in the rooms and suites.

The lobby sets the visitor up for a sophisticated welcome, with walls of glass mixed with backlighting to give an
outdoor feel. The wing leaves no stone unturned in its efforts to create an exclusive, luxury environment with unparalleled levels of service and hospitality standards.

The Royal Penthouse Suite measuring 576 sq m, presents itself as the wing’s crown jewel, more closely resembling a luxury apartment than a suite. Spread out over two floors, with a bright dining and comfortable living area, it is a beautiful showcase in attention to detail and a focus on creating a sanctuary of calm and luxury for guests.

The stylish decor

Designated suites come complete with an in-room spa area – a first for the kingdom – offering the utmost in privacy, relaxation and pampering for holiday-makers and honeymooners.

The new ladies-only spa, has even more to offer guests seeking out indulgence, exquisite personal service and reviving treatments, with an indoor pool and a variety of services in five categories – face, complete body, massage, hands and feet and spirit.

Rosewood is known for delivering award-winning spa services. An individualised menu of treatments is arranged for clients as the spa seeks to stimulate the fine balance between life, nature and spirit. Emulating the rest of the wing in combining modern touches with traditional values, the spa honours local healing practices and incorporates indigenous natural elements.
