Gulf Air adds routes and capacity

Gulf Air will add Alexandria, Egypt, and Aleppo, Syria, to its network as well as additional flights and capacity on key destinations as part of its new summer schedule.

Services to Alexandria will start on June 2 with four flights per week on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday. Flights to Aleppo will commence on June 17 on Monday, Thursday and Saturday.

In addition the airline will increase its services to both Iran and Iraq. Tehran, Shiraz and Mashad will be served daily and Baghdad and Erbil services will increase respectively to five times and three times weekly. The airline will also increase frequencies to Kuala Lumpur offering a daily service.

Gulf Air will also deploy larger aircraft on key destinations across the Levant region including Beirut to meet the expected strong seasonal demand.

Gulf Air’s new Embraer aircraft, will be deployed on the airline’s high-frequency routes including Abu Dhabi, Muscat and Baghdad.

 

Emirates opens second UK regional lounge

Emirates has doubled its regional lounge offering in the UK within the space of just six months.

A brand new luxury lounge (pictured) has been officially opened in Birmingham, the first dedicated lounge to be offered by a long-haul airline at the city’s international airport.

First class and business class passengers, plus Gold Skywards members travelling on Emirates’ twice-daily service from Dubai to Birmingham can now seek sanctuary in the 7,000 sq ft facility situated opposite the airline’s departure gate (number 54) in the new international pier in Terminal 1.

 

Dubai deals from Oman Air

Oman Air has launched its best ever deals from Muscat to Dubai. For Just RO22 ($57), one-way, inclusive of taxes, passengers can travel from Muscat to Dubai while enjoying full in-flight services and the genuine Omani hospitality, a generous baggage allowance, pre-flight seat selection, lounge access for Sindbad silver and gold frequent flyers, in addition to carry-on hand luggage.

Oman Air Flights to Dubai leave Muscat daily at 2.15am, 8am, 11.15am, 2pm, 6.15pm and 8.30pm and leave Dubai daily to Muscat at 5.50am, 9.55am, 1.05pm, 4.05pm, 8.15pm and 10.45pm.

 

Introductory fares on new Air France route

To celebrate the launch of its new service between Abu Dhabi and Paris from May 3, Air France has announced its introductory fares for passengers travelling to France and onwards to Europe and North and South America.

Economy fares to Europe will start from Dh1,390 ($378) and from Dh1,490 to North and South American destinations (subject to conditions); offers are available for passengers purchasing tickets before  April 5, for any travel between May 3 and July 15.

The new route means the Air France KLM group will offer up to 10 weekly, non-stop flights out of Abu Dhabi International Airport, to their respective hubs of Paris – Charles de Gaulle and Amsterdam.
