Fans interested in travelling to the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa will be able to book accommodation on the official tournament website FIFA.com following the launch of an online accommodation service.

In total, Match, the professional services company appointed by FIFA to manage the official accommodation solution for the World Cup, has secured 1,725,190 room nights for the event and 43 per cent of the entire inventory (741,832 room nights) in the 1,007 properties is reserved for the general public.

The accommodation service will enable fans to instantly search the available inventory and make bookings.

Cape Town has also launched the first ever National Tourism Contact Centre for South Africa, a single point of call for all tourism related information.

The centre consists of a comprehensive website and a call centre which is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week and will serve customers in seven international languages – English, French, Italian, Spanish, German, Dutch and Portuguese.
