Delta’s business cabin with its flat bed seats

THIS is Delta airline’s catch-phrase for its BusinessElite seat and I certainly found it to be true on my non-stop journey from Dubai to Atlanta.

Leaving Dubai at 11.30pm most people are ready to sleep and with a reclining seat that adjusts to a completely flat 6 ft 3 in (1.9 m) bed, with full-size pillow and quilted duvet, you are set for the night and a 15 hour journey!

For those who do not want to sleep immediately, a delicious full dinner is served. I was planning on going straight to sleep but the persuasive flight attendant convinced me a nice warming pumpkin soup would help me doze off.

Night owls can take advantage of Delta’s  on-demand digital entertainment with movies, television programmes, games and music and for workaholics there is PC power and a USB port to keep your appliances charged.

Those flying in economy class on board Delta’s Boeing 777-200LR aircraft enjoy in-seat, Delta on–demand digital entertainment and economy seats have been designed with increased personal space and storage.

The design of the business cabin and seats is something I have not seen before as the seats are set at an angle, so you are not right next to anyone even in the centre aisle, giving you a very private area.

In fact, if you were travelling with a companion, it might be better to book across the aisle from each another as chatting may well be easier that way.

Delta is the largest carrier at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport.  With the combined schedule of Delta, Northwest, and Delta Connention carriers, customers can choose from more than 1,000 peak-day departures. With 249 domestic connections out of Atlanta, when you arrive from the Middle East, you have a choice of flights to your final destination in the US.

Other destinations operated by Delta from the region include Cairo and Amman to JFK.
