GULF travellers still have time to make a last-minute booking for holiday cruise in the Mediterranean.
Costa Cruises, which had eight of its 14 ships operating during summer, is offering a seven-night cruise to Italy, Greece and Croatia departing from Venice on September 19. Cost per person for an inside cabin, start from $689 and window cabins, start from $759. The Costa Serena offers its seven nights Ancient Treasures cruise which takes in Italy, Greece, Turkey and Croatia. Departure is from Venice on September 20 and cost start from $859 per person for an inside cabin, from $1,259 per person for a window cabin and from $1,429 per person for a balcony.
Children are free up to 17 years, sharing the cabin with two adults, but note they do pay for port taxes of $140 per person and insurance.
The cruise line’s newest ship Costa Pacifica also has a seven night itinerary in the western Mediterranean, with weekly departures from Rome, Savona and Barcelona to Majorca, Tunis and Palermo, Sicily. A similar cruise is operated by the Costa Concordia calling at ports in Spain, Tunisia, Malta, Italy and France.
Costa Cruises is also offering special rates for groups of 10 or more.
Offers closer to home are available on the Costa Luminosa and Costa Deliziosa, which have weekly departures from Dubai, starting from December 12 until May 2010. The seven night cruises with Alpha Holidays take in the UAE, Oman and Bahrain, starting from $599 per person.
