Movenpick Royal Palm Hotel Dar es Salaam and the Africa and Middle East division of Habitat for Humanity International - a global non profit housing organisation – recently formed a partnership to work together to provide affordable, decent housing to families in need.
Royal patron of Habitat for Humanity Great Britain, the Duke of Gloucester said, “We are delighted to be part of this project. Movenpick Hotels & Resorts is a leader in the hospitality business and Habitat for Humanity is a leader in providing housing solutions; both have joined forces to support local communities in need. This is an opportunity for visitors not only to have a splendid vacation but also to contribute to the local community’s development in Tanzania.”
Movenpick Royal Palm Hotel’s general manager Daniel Roche felt there was a great need for decent housing in Tanzania. “We are inviting our guests to be part of this initiative by donating a symbolic amount on checking out of the hotel as a gesture toward those who are less fortunate. There can never be a better feeling, than knowing you made that simple difference to affect one family or more. It makes me proud to be part of realising dreams.”
“Movenpick Royal Palm Hotel is demonstrating great corporate citizenship by helping to build Habitat for Humanity homes and raise awareness about the critical need for affordable, simple, decent housing in Tanzania. Movenpick Royal Palm Hotel and Habitat for Humanity will provide not only shelter, but more importantly hope and a secure future, to some of the most vulnerable citizens, the children, and their families,” said Habitat for Humanity Tanzania’s national director, Jeremy Cross.
