A new urban spa and gym experience promoting a combination of personalised spa treatments with holistic fitness training programmes has been launched by the Six Senses Resorts and Spas at its spa in Hotel Arts, Barcelona.
This Gym by Six Senses Spas is the first gymnasium that the spa brand has opened, and is situated on the ground floor of the hotel, with private access from the street. The gym offers a limited number of guests and members a chance to undertake a series of fitness exercise techniques from qualified wellness coaches. Sessions include personal training, Tai Chi, pilates and yoga.
Each holistic fitness session is individualised to ensure the guest’s workout time is dedicated to achieving specific personal goals and mental well-being. The duration of sessions can be thirty or eighty minutes, with benefits including improved flexibility and muscle tone, development of cardiovascular resistance and mental alertness, and an overall lifestyle adjustment.
Fitness programmes at The Gym by Six Senses Spas are supported by tailor made spa express treatments which include short stimulating sessions of 25 minutes or more combining stress relief and pampering therapies with a range of wellness activities to balance the five senses.
Sheron Boddy, regional spa director Europe, commented, “This is an exciting development for Six Senses Spas as we offer a lifestyle experience with an integrated approach to exercise, ensuring all aspects of our guest’s and member’s wellness needs are met”.
The gym facility is equipped with state-of-the-art technology including pilates and kinesis equipment plus five treatment rooms, steam and sauna, and spacious changing areas.
