Erdos to head Diplomat RADSAS
Radisson SAS Hotels have named Rick Erdos as general manager at the Diplomat Radisson SAS Bahrain.
Erdos takes charge in Bahrain from the Radisson Hotel Pudong Century Park, Shanghai. He brings more than two decades of international hotel management expertise of which 16 years was with Radisson.
Timbrell joins the Gefinor Rotana
Mark Timbrell has been appointed as general manager of the Gefinor Rotana Hotel Beirut. He has held positions in Jordan and Bahrain as director of sales & marketing at Forte Grand Amman and regional director of sales & marketing at Forum Hotels. Before joining Rotana Hotels, he was the resident manager at Intercontinental Jordan Hotel.
JW Marriott Dubai expands team
Paul Rushton has been appointed as JW Marriott Dubai’s new director of sales & marketing. Rushton has worked with the Four Seasons and moved to Nikko Hotels before joining the Marriott Corporation. Nicolas Vergnaud (left) has been appointed as manager at JW’s Steakhouse and Cucina.
New faces at InterContinental Doha
Andy Nightingale (left) has been appointed director of sales & marketing at the InterContinental Doha. He has previously worked with Cityflyer Express and various Thistle hotels.
Zhennia Latiff has been appointed as executive housekeeper at the hotel. She was earlier director of house-keeping at the Crowne Plaza Kuwait.
New staff at the Renaissance Dubai
The Renaissance Dubai has appointed Najat El Kindi as catering sales manager and Christine Khachatryan (left) as sales manager.
Kindi moves from a stint with the Hilton Dubai Jumeirah and Hilton Dubai Creek. Prior to joining the Renaissance, Khachatryan worked at the Armenia Marriott Hotel, Yerevan as the sales executive.
New GM at Mِvenpick Cairo Pyramids
Mِvenpick Hotels & Resorts Africa recently appointed Safir Sorour as the new general manager for the Mِvenpick Resort Cairo-Pyramids. Sorour brings more than 35 years of experience with brands like Le Meridien, Sheraton and Oberoi Hotels. He will also oversee the renovation programme at the resort.
MHR expands regional team
Mِvenpick Hotels & Resorts have appointed Malcolm Kerr (left), to head the development team for Asia & Pacific. He will be responsible for representing the brand in all communication with project developers and investors in the region. Anita Markiewicz joins the regional office in Dubai as director of revenue management – Middle East & Asia.
Daga joins InterCon Dubai Festival City
InterContinental Hotels Group has appointed Aditi Daga as the new public relations manager for its new Dubai Festival City properties: the InterContinental, Crowne Plaza, and InterContinental Residence Suites. Her most recent position was with Dubai Festival City in the corporate marketing division.
New names at Crowne Plaza Abu Dhabi
Sabah Navel has been appointed the new human resources manager at the Crowne Plaza Abu Dhabi. He moves from the Crowne Plaza Muscat.
The hotel has also named Sid Sattanathan (left) as executive assistant manager. Currently based in Netherlands, he has worked for the InterContinental group for over six years.
Smith appointed at Accor WTC
Accor has appointed Michael David Smith as director of human resources for its World Trade Centre Hotels Novotel and Ibis. Before joining Accor, he was human resources manager for the Park Plaza Hotels in the UK. His experience extends to the Royal Lancaster Hotel, the Conrad Hilton and the Holiday Inn group.
