Sheraton and Starwood Preferred guest scoop awards
Business Traveler Middle East magazine nominated Sheraton for 12 awards as Best Business Hotels and runners-up, and voted Starwood Preferred Guest as Best Hotel Loyalty Programme.
Sheraton Kuwait was voted Best Business Hotel in Kuwait and runner-up for Best Business Hotel in the Middle East. Sheraton also came runner-up as Best Hotel Chain in the Middle East, and Sheraton Amman Al Nabil, Sheraton Bahrain, Sheraton Coral Beach in Beirut, Sheraton Oman and Sheraton Riyadh were all runners-up in their own cities.
Sheikh Khalifa Excellence Award for Crowne Plaza
Crowne Plaza Abu Dhabi received the prestigious Sheikh Khalifa Excellence Award 2005 for the tourism sector. The award was presented by HE Dr Sheikh Sultan Bin Khalifa Al Nahyan and HE Saeed Abduljalil Al Fahim to Walter Hall, general manager of Crowne Plaza Abu Dhabi.
Concorde El Salam holds reception in Dubai
Concorde El Salam Hotels in Egypt in conjunction with Queen’s Gate Concorde Hotel London held a cocktail reception in Dubai recently. Ahmed EI Khadem, chairman of the Egyptian Tourist Authority, Nagwa EI Talty, regional director of sales and marketing, and Soha Nassif, regional director of PR and advertising, were present along with international tour operators, press and media from Gulf, Europe and Egypt.

Le Royal Beirut hosts the Hospitality Annual Award
More than 400 professionals of the hospitality industry attended the Hospitality Annual Award gala dinner held at Le Royal Beirut in Lebanon. The Hotel Pioneer Award went to Sheikh Hassan Mahmoud Harmouch, a hotel owner. The Lifetime Award went to Mazen Salha, chairman of Société des Grands Hotels du Liban and chairman of Société Hôtelière Vendome and to Marwan Salha, director and board member of the Société des Grands Hotels du Liban and of Société Hôtelière Vendôme. The 2005 Corporate Hotel Brand Award went to Nazmi Auchi, owner and CEO of General Mediterranean Holding and Le Royal Hotels. The 2005 Hospitality Investor award went to Khalaf Al Habtoor owner and chairman of Al Habtoor Group. Seen above are attendees at the inauguration of the award ceremony.
