Cunard’s spiritual home – Liverpool - has been chosen to host the spectacular naming ceremony for its newest ship Queen Anne.
The event will take place on the world-famous Mersey waterfront at Liverpool on June 3 during a celebratory ‘lap of honour’ voyage around the British Isles. And Cunard’s hosts for the momentous spectacle will be Busted musician, Matt Willis, and his TV presenter wife, Emma. The power couple of British pop culture recorded this message revealing what guests can expect from the event.
Queen Anne is expected to arrive on the Mersey soon after sunrise on what promises to be the most eagerly awaited port of call on the exclusive 14-night voyage.
Plans are being made for her arrival to include a special salute to the city where Cunard’s pioneering transatlantic service – and passenger shipping itself – was launched in 1840, and where the iconic Cunard Building forms the centrepiece of the Three Graces.
Ashok Kumar, Founder and Managing Director, Cruise Master, said, “The new ship, Queen Anne, will be joining the Cunard Fleet after 13 years and will be sailing to Europe this season with interesting itineraries to look forward to.
“With four new dining venues and a new entertainment venue, discover all the secrets of the Queen Anne, a state-of-the-art ship that offers a great variety of activities and entertainment on board.”
