Stays include access to Yas Island’s main attractions: Ferrari World Abu Dhabi, Yas Waterworld and Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi among them. Home to world-class events, the Etihad Arena is next-door, simply a hop away. With Abu Dhabi International Airport merely 10 minutes away, overseas guests can hit the ground running and waste no time upon check in to immerse in the plethora of exciting experiences all of which are within a short distance.
Our journey began at the hotel’s stunning reception area where the hotel’s guest ambassadors ensure a cordial reception followed by a check in and escort to the rooms. The first impression is that of largesse, wide open spaces with a mix of natural lighting and stunning light installations that take after the colour, texture and forms of the natural habitat of the UAE – sun, sand and sea.
We were whisked into a two-bedroom suite overlooking the Yas Bay. This is among the most expansive configurations at the hotel and can comfortably accommodate six: four adults and two children. The 1302 sq. ft. modern living space features two spacious bedrooms, furnished balcony, living room with dining table and kitchenette. Apart from the two bathrooms with separate shower and bath there was a guest restroom, for additional convenience.
Hilton Abu Dhabi Yas Island’s F&B offerings provide a choice for every mood. From chic casual dining concept Graphos Soul Kitchen, to the Capila Pool Bar & Grill and the Osmo Lounge Bar, there is venue for every mood. We enjoyed wandering around the live cooking stations at Graphos, delighting our taste buds with the diverse flavours of the East and the West within a few steps. The outdoor pool bar is already set up for a relaxing book read, put your feet up and enjoy some fantastic beverage concoctions inspired by the exotic flavours of faraway lands, from Jamaica to Hawaii and more. This would count as the best pool-bar fare in Abu Dhabi we have ever tried and the property’s best-kept secret.
Our five-year-old daughter couldn’t hide her excitement at the sight the themed kids pool, thoughtfully shaded and positioned right next to the kids club. The care givers at the kids club deserve a special mention for winning hearts of the little ones. The weekdays are packed with interesting hands-on and creative activities, our daughter adores the mask and origami birds she made at the club.
We were pleased to learn that the property implements progressive standards with an eye on the environment and sustainability. Intelligent waste management systems, energy-saving lighting and solar panel energy for the water heating keep the carbon footprint low, giving guests an additional sense of feel good.
The afternoon high tea experience at the Osmo Lounge Bar will be the enduring memory of Hilton Abu Dhabi Yas Island. Open daily from 2pm to 6pm, the stylish café lounge comes with view of the Yas Bay, providing guests with an array of delectable bites paired with handpicked famous tea blends. We sat back in a cosy corner of the lounge to embark on a journey of good taste. Served in a three-tier stand with an option of a vegetarian menu, the afternoon treat is priced at Dh185 per person. The bites include freshly baked golden raisin and plain scones with clotted cream, strawberry jam, and lemon curd, on to more exotic offerings like duck couscous puff pasty, salmon with zaatar, sumac egg with truffle and tortilla with saffron. Guests can choose between a variety of hot or cold beverages to go with the tasty bites.
