A new Dead Sea resort owned by the Jordan Social Security and managed by InterContinental Hotels Group will be constructed at the shores of the Dead Sea Jordan. The Resort will bear the Holiday Inn brand.
The agreement was signed by Ahmad Abdul Fattah, general manager of the Social Security Jordan, and Chris Moloney, CEO of InterContinental Hotels Group Middle East & Africa. The signing ceremony was attended by Gunter Grigoleit, regional vice-president Operations Jordan & Palestine and Osama Al Dabbas, general manager Crowne Plaza Amman. The resort is located on 70,000 sq m land at the hotels' area will include 220 rooms and 200 chalets in addition to many other facilities and services such as Grand Ballrooms, meeting & conference rooms, swimming pools, tennis courts, restaurants and children's play ground. In addition, a Health Spa and a fascinating beach stretch are also included. Fattah said that this project is one of many Investment projects for the Social Security and the aim is to support the tourism industry as well as investing to increase the Jordanian Employment market. The project's construction is expected to start at the end of this year. Moloney added that this hotel would support the other hotels owned by the Social Security which covers most of the tourist areas in Jordan. This also indicates the promising future for the Tourism Market in Jordan. He added "InterContinental Hotels Group is finalizing a complete marketing plan to support the Jordanian tourism market as well as the global market."
