One of Switzerland's top hotel is combining more than 130 years of experience with a modern style of hospitality in introducing Middle East travellers to an attractive new getaway option on the shores of Lake Geneva.

The Hotel Angleterre and Residence, sister hotel of the famous Beau-Rivage Palace in Lausanne, will be of particular interest to families and individuals preferring contemporary style and a homely atmosphere on their travels.

Situated adjacent to the Beau-Rivage Palace and offering magnificent views of the lake, the five separate 18th century mansions which comprise the hotel are surrounded by a private garden and feature a wide range of modern conveniences.

All 35 rooms and suites are individually decorated and offer direct dial telephone, pay television, internet television access, modem plugs, and minibar. Significantly, the hotel offers guests the same exquisite standard of service which has made the larger, classical style Beau-Rivage Palace a popular choice with visitors from the Middle East, and around the world.

"Today's leisure travellers are increasingly looking for intimate and individual hotel properties where attention to detail and a personal and homely service is a key attraction," said Yves Chavaillaz, general manager of the Hotel Angleterre and Residence.

True to the Beau-Rivage Palace tradition, guests at the Hotel Angleterre and Residence have the option of a limousine pick-up for a 40-minute trip from Geneva Cointrin Airport in a luxurious chauffeur-driven Rolls-Royce. Swiss International Airlines operates 31 weekly flights from the Middle East to Zurich - including daily services from Dubai and Abu Dhabi, and others from Cairo, Muscat, Jeddah and Riyadh - with 14 daily connecting flights to Geneva.

Once checked in at the Hotel Angleterre and Residence, guests will find Lausanne's popular shopping area is a short distance away, while a stroll to the world's only Olympic Museum takes about three minutes.

Guests have free access to the Beau-Rivage Palace fitness centre with its two tennis courts, sauna and turkish bath. There are two private meeting rooms, each for up to 30 people, and banqueting facilities hosting up to 100 guests for exclusive social functions.
