Orlando World Center Marriott, home of the award-winning Hawk’s Landing Golf Club, announces the addition of Foot Golf – one of the fastest growing recreational activities in the United States – at the Orlando resort’s championship golf course.

Recently named an official US sport, Foot Golf pulls together elements from soccer and golf to create an entertaining game for guests of all ages and skill levels to enjoy.

“We’re excited to further enhance the offerings at Orlando World Center Marriott, and Foot Golf is a great way for locals and guests to experience our golf course in a fun and approachable way,” says Michael Hodgins, director of Golf at Hawk’s Landing Golf Club.

While played with a soccer ball, the scoring rules are the same as traditional golf. During a round of foot golf, team members attempt to kick the soccer ball from tee to green and into a 21-inch hole, all while making sure to avoid water hazards and sand bunkers. Groups have the option to play a round of six or 18 holes. The Orlando resort provides the soccer balls and golf cart for a round on the course.

The Foot Golf programme will be available for individual players at Hawk’s Landing Golf Club every Tuesday and Saturday after 4:30pm at a cost of $25 for adults and $12.50 for each accompanying child 17 and under.

Hawk’s Landing Golf Club offers 18-holes of championship golf. Re-designed by Robert E. Cupp II on an original Joe Lee layout, the conveniently located 6,602-yard course features water on 15 holes and closely mown fairways.

Although the course is home to over 80 bunkers, it has generous landing areas to make it playable for golfers of all skill levels. From start to finish, players are surrounded by meticulously manicured, emerald green fairways, first-class amenities and a scenic blend of native wildlife and tropical vegetation.

For over 25 years, Hawk’s Landing has been considered one of the premier resort golf courses in Orlando and greater Central Florida.
