R Hotels to open Palm Jumeirah property

R HOTELS, part of Ajman-based R Holding, is to invest Dh500 million ($136.2 million) in a new property  on The Palm Jumeirah in Dubai, UAE.

Set to open doors in the fourth quarter of 2016, R Hotels’ sixth property will be the first sharia-compliant and four-star resort and spa in the neighbourhood.

Its location provides easy access to dining and shopping venues, as well as to an array of attractions for families and individuals. Some popular activities within The Palm include skiing, wind surfing, wakeboarding, fishing and boat trips.

Located on the East Crescent of The Palm Jumeirah, the new property will feature 259 rooms and modern recreational facilities including a spa for men and women, gym and swimming pool. It also plans to offer wellbeing treatments, plus fitness and nutrition programmes by teaming up with a renowned wellness centre, which specialises in the said services.

Other features include an all-day dining restaurant and poolside bar, and state of the art sauna and steam bath. The property will also have an array of amenities and activities for children including a supervised indoor and outdoor play area, and special kids’ entertainment. 

R Hotels owns and manages four properties in the UAE which are Ramada Hotel and Suites Ajman, Ramada Beach Hotel Ajman, Ramada Downtown Dubai, and Hawthorn Suites by Wyndham in Jumeirah Beach Residence.

The group recently announced its fifth hotel in the UAE located at Al Mina Road in Jumeirah, which is expected to open in the second quarter of 2015. The new properties are part of the group’s Dh1.5 billion ($408.7 million) investment plan, which was announced in 2013.
