GOLDEN Tulip’s Al Barsha property in Dubai, UAE, has been named the 2013 Golden Tulip hotel of the year for the Middle East and North Africa (Mena) region.
“This is the second time that the Golden Tulip Al Barsha has won this award after winning it for the first time in 2011,” says general manager Tarek Lotfy, adding that the four-star property is ideally located “for a mix of business, shopping and leisure”.
The Golden Tulip is part of the Louvre Hotels Group, and the annual award is based on quality assurance and guest surveys, says Lotfy.
“The award will definitely inspire confidence in potential clients to experience the hotel’s services and facilities,” he adds.
Golden Tulip Al Barsha’s business has grown between 15 per cent to 25 per cent over the last two years and the hotel hopes for a 33 per cent increase this year, says Lotfy.
The hotel will be at ITB Berlin as part of the Louvre Hotels Group and will be looking to attract new clients, says Lotfy, adding that the launch of Dubai World Central – Al Maktoum International Airport will further facilitate tourist arrivals to Dubai.
The annual Gulf Incentive, Business Travel and Meetings Exhibition (GIBTM) in Abu Dhabi is also a key focus for the hotel. “It is a great platform to meet major clients in the meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions business,” he says.
