V Five Continents expands UAE portfolio
V FIVE Continents Hospitality Group has announced the launch of its third hotel in UAE, V Continents Executive Suites. Located on Muroor Street in Abu Dhabi, the new property offers 120 studios and suites specially designed for natural living to deliver a restful stay and a comfortable work environment. With innovative design elements in all aspects of the rooms as well as relaxing ‘rain’ showers, dedicated flexible workspaces with high-speed internet access, in-room safe and extensive international selection of TV channels. In addition guests will have access to an all-day dining coffee shop, rooftop swimming pool and gymnasium.

Golden Tulip celebrates 50 years
THE Golden Tulip Hotels, part of the Louvre Hotel Group and owned by Starwood Capital is celebrating its 50th anniversary in 2012. Established on November 12, 1962, the hotel company comprises of seven hospitality brands with over 200 hotels in 40 countries. Louvre Hotels Group & Golden Tulip celebrated this occasion during the Worldwide Conference that took place in Brussels that gathered Golden Tulip Hotels from different countries around the globe.
Amine Moukarzel (left), president of Golden Tulip Mena, was awarded for his achievements and development of the Golden Tulip Hotels in the Middle East & North Africa by receiving a Platinum Award from the CEO and president of Louvre Hotels Group Pierre Frederic Roulot.
“It is with the dedication of our employees and their loyalty to our company that we grow and improve Local Flavours and International Standards is our commitment and we are planning to expand with Louvre Hotels Group by adding more brands to the Mena region and entering new countries,” said Moukarzel.
With more than 55 hotels in the Mena region, Golden Tulip is planning to expand in 2012 and operate in many countries offering multiple possibilities for development, in addition to entering new countries such as Algeria and Georgia.
Park Regis Dubai rewards bookers
IN its bid to recognise ‘bookers’, Park Regis Kris Kin Hotel Dubai has launched a loyalty programme that is designed to reward booking agents for their support and loyalty to the hotel. The scheme offers 10 points for each night booked at the Park Regis Kris Kin Hotel Dubai, with no limits on how many points can be earned and a simple redemption procedure. Points will be awarded only to all materialised/ confirmed bookings.
These points can be redeemed at the dining venues or accommodation at the hotel. The programme is free to join and valid only for those booking company travel.
Sonesta opens in Doha
AL MADAEN Group has signed a contract with Sonesta International Hotels to manage and operate Sonesta Hotel Doha, the first Sonesta branded five-star boutique hotel in the Gulf area. The first phase of the hotel will be ready before the end of this year with 166 rooms and suites and by the end of 2014, the hotel capacity should reach 260 rooms and suites.
When complete, the hotel will cater to business and leisure guests, with a touch of the authentic Qatari cultural. The total investment of the project is estimated to be approximately SAR 400 million ($106 million).
Mövenpick Hotels go green
GREEN Globe Certification and Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts announced major reductions of greenhouse gases (GHG) and significant water savings by all Mövenpick properties across the Middle East. After the first year of Green Globe certification of hotels in the region, analysis of energy and water consumption reveals the reduction of 11,765 tons of CO2e and savings of 129,346 cu m of potable water in the last 12 months, enough to power a 200-room hotel for one and half years.
